Candy returns to Pony's Home and she meets a girl who has lost her parents and doesn't associate with the other kids. In order to cheer her up she decides to tell her about herself from the moment she was found by Miss Pony and sister Lane to her decision to leave the boarding school in England and walk her own path.
Candy the orphan has lived a tragic yet touching life, moving from family to family and falling in love with several boys. She has just returned to her first home at the orphanage, and discovers that a new girl, Alice, is living a solitary and melancholy life without many friends or companions. To help boost Alice’s spirits, Candy sits down with the children and tells about her life, from the orphanage to boarding school, from her first love Anthony to recently-departed Terry and beyond. Afterwards, Candy will set forth on her newest adventure: to become a nurse and help others!
