He spent his early childhood happily with his parents and younger sister, Shiori Yonazuki, but lost both parents at once in a traffic accident.

Although he was taken in by a couple who owed a debt of gratitude to his late parents, his foster parents were only interested in the family assets; when Shiori collapsed due to a chronic illness, they refused to provide proper medical care. Consequently, Lucia began playing Shadowverse to earn the money needed for his sister's treatment and hospitalization.
