The leader of Destron (aka Decepticon) forces - a cruel and intelligent strategist who dreams of galaxy-wide dominance with what he describes as "peace through tyranny". His signature alternate mode is a customized handgun, often wielded by his subordinates, most commonly Starscream. However, in later installments, he adapts a number of other alternate modes, with his second most iconic form being a tank.

His signature weapon is the Fusion Cannon (融合カノン砲), which he usually wields on his right arm.

In many incarnations, following his demise at the hands of his lifelong rival Convoy, he is rebuilt by Unicron into his loyal servant, Galvatron, who's treated as a separate character in most continuities.
