Alex was a WNBA player who had to retire because of an eye disease. Later on, she taught basketball to Kagami and Tatsuya. However, Kagami went back to Japan, so Alex only finished training Tatsuya.
Before the match between Touou and Seirin, Kagami went to America so that he could train with Alex. She soon realized that what was missing in Kagami was Wild Instinct. She assigned Kagami to play basketball gambling, with a ten dollar bet. After this, Kagami’s reflexes become much faster.
Later on, she went to Japan to see Seirin vs Yosen, since it was a match between her two best pupils. Realizing that Tatsuya’s level had significantly increased, Alex takes Kagami to a street court and teaches him a new way of shooting, which Kagami later develops as a new shoot called Meteor Jam.
