Kiki's father; according to Miyazaki he is a professor of folklore. He has no magic lineage. He met Kiki's mother when they were both young; when she came to his town on her traditional witch training leave. According to character designer Katsuya Kondo he depicted Okino's appearance on actors David McCallum and Akira Terao.
