It is about a small private collection of the British radio DJ John Peel who died in 2004 at the age of 65. Peel's main archive contained more than 100,000 vinyl records and CDs. This smaller private collection, however, contains 143 singles - some of them doublettes - stored in a private wooden box representing some of his personal favourites. According to the documentary, there are no singles by Peel's favorite group, The Fall, because he kept them in a separate box. The film features interviews with John's wife Sheila Ravenscroft, radio DJs and artists like Mary Anne Hobbs, Sir Elton John, Ronnie Wood, Roger Daltrey, Fergal Sharkey, Jack White, Michael Palin and Miki Berenyi.

The Nation's Favourite Bee Gees Song (2011)
Character: Self
The rundown of Britain’s favourite 20 Bee Gee compositions forms a very serviceable biography, including the group’s return from Australia, their decline in the early 70s, and their wonderfully unlikely reinvention as a three-headed disco monster. Discussing what makes each song great are Cliff Richard, Tim Rice, a bafflingly incongruous but still welcome Dave Grohl, Neil Sedaka, and Barry and Robin Gibb. Can you guess what number one is? Elton John sorely wishes he’d written it...

Freddie (2023)
Character: N/A
Freddie Mercury was known for his flamboyant stage persona and four-octave vocal range - the lead singer of Queen defied the conventions of a typical rock frontman. He paved the way for many contemporary artists to have a more confident and theatrical act which indelibly shaped the next generation of pop and rock music. From working as a baggage handler at Heathrow airport to hiding his HIV diagnosis from the public until just before his death, Mercury's life was filled with adventure, publicity, and perhaps above all, a clear duality. He was both flamboyant and shy, outspoken and intensely private. The illness that claimed his life could never have defined Freddie, and now, years later, his legacy is greater than he could have ever imagined.
