A short time later, he sees her again at a Fasching ball. She is wearing a golden mask, which practically hides her entire face. This supposedly unknown woman falls in love with Alexander and becomes his lover the next day.

But Wetterstein is being pursued both by the police and creditors and disappears in quick order once again.

One day, Irene’s cousin Gustl comes on a visit and Mrs. Leuthoff takes the opportunity to “accidentally” let slip to Ferdinand, that his current wife is a whore. As if living with your current mother-in-law isn’t enough to deal with!
