Entre ciclones Entre ciclones (2003) Character: Germán
A story of survival and triumph of the human spirit.
Mata que Dios perdona Mata que Dios perdona (2006) Character: Esteban
Set in Cuba in early 1959, although the historical context is deliberately avoided in its epic backdrop, the story follows the persecution of a poor guy who owes a few pesos to a loan shark and a thug who swear to get even with him, not so much because of the unpaid debt as because they don't want to set a precedent. The man's name is Miguel, and he seems to care as much as Santiago Nasar that the killers are hot on his heels with their half-tone shoes. On the day of his "double crime" (the story recreates those 24 hours), he has a couple of drinks in a bar, argues with his ex-lover, has sex with a young prostitute, puts up with a scolding from his friend Pedro for being negligent, walks, urinates, goes to bed...
Una mujer, un hombre, una ciudad... Una mujer, un hombre, una ciudad... (1978) Character: N/A
A young sociologist returns to Nuevitas, his hometown, to investigate the transformations taking place there, brought about by the advance of the revolutionary process. Disagreeing with the way his predecessor worked, he tries to change it and discovers the complexity of human relationships, social problems, and the sexist and racial prejudices she had to face.
El recurso del método El recurso del método (1978) Character: N/A
Set in the early 1900s, this film charts the rule of a Latin American dictator as he moves from being a charming despot to a tyrannical ruler before he is finally ousted, only to die in obscurity in Paris. Early in his regime, the resources and agricultural products his country sells command high prices, and he is a reasonably confident, even gentle, ruler who likes to take long vacations with his daughter in Paris. After World War I, with falling prices and a number of coup attempts behind him, his rule becomes quite cruel.
Tiempo de Partir Tiempo de Partir (2012) Character: Alfredo
Alfredo for years has dreamed of living the exciting adventures he reads in the National Geographic magazine. Now that he is an old man, he believes that his dream has failed, but one day he discovers an article that will change his mind.
Los días del agua Los días del agua (1971) Character: Lino
This Cuban feature examines the circumstances arising out of a woman's claim to have seen the Virgin Mary and to have been healed by waters from a nearby stream. In an accelerating storm of cynical opportunism, her sincere beliefs are exploited by businessmen, politicians and military men. Rival groups compete to exploit the hysteria the vision causes, and the chaos culminates in a revolution. Striking imagery and skillful camerawork enhance this feature.
Jíbaro Jíbaro (1985) Character: N/A
The first years of the Cuban Revolution characterized by social transformations and class struggles.
Otra mujer Otra mujer (1986) Character: N/A
It reflects the transformation which a woman undergoes in the crisis of personal fulfillment that her husband is going through. In the middle of a complex process, marked by contradictions and failures, she will grow and express her independence as a human being. She will be another woman, determined to continue the difficult and unknown daily struggle.
Quiéreme y verás... Quiéreme y verás... (1995) Character: N/A
Three crooks in Havanna plan the bankrobbery of a lifetime
El elefante y la bicicleta El elefante y la bicicleta (1994) Character: N/A
After two years in jail, El Isleño returns to the island of La Fe, ruled by the dictator Francisco Gavilán. He arrives with a cinematograph and exhibits "Robin Hood" to the people. The next day the bridge that communicates La Fe to the mainland has been destroyed, and the people plan to overthrow Gavilán.
Patty Candela Patty Candela (1976) Character: N/A
Based on actual events, the film dramatizes the efforts of Cuban counterintelligence services in response to Operation Patty, a CIA plot to assassinate Raúl Castro.
Retrato de Teresa Retrato de Teresa (1979) Character: Tomás
Teresa is overwhelmed: with a husband, three young sons, a job as a crew leader in a textile factory, and volunteer commitments as cultural leader of her union. Her husband, Ramón, believes her additional pursuits take time away from her domestic tasks and wants more of her attention, accusing her of neglecting him, her house and her family. A hard-hitting Cuban drama that presents a woman struggling for control of her own life and deals with the social consequences of traditional male chauvinism.
Alicia en el pueblo de Maravillas Alicia en el pueblo de Maravillas (1991) Character: Cándido
A biting satire about life in contemporary Cuba. Alicia, a young drama instructor, is sent to the small town of Maravillas de Noveras, which is itself an exaggerated, but very ingenious reflection of the real Cuba. Her adventures there are almost as surreal as the ones experienced by Lewis Carroll's character, reflecting patterns of indoctrination, coercion, absolutism, and many other everyday problems in Cuban society.
Doble Juego Doble Juego (2002) Character: Armando
A story about teenagers, their parents and teachers, the conflicts that can arise in today's Cuban society, and their solutions. The film tells the story of Matilde and Isabel, two young girls in ninth grade in the Cuban capital, who become close friends despite their differences in education, social behavior, and personality.

Habanastation Habanastation (2011) Character: Vendedor de Tomates
Directed mainly for kids, the film speaks of a Havana that reveals two distinct faces, from the everyday life of a couple of kids.
La vida es silbar La vida es silbar (1998) Character: Taxista
Three characters in present-day Havana must choose between clinging to their self-restricting beliefs, or getting rid of them to live more freely. Ballerina Mariana has promised God celibacy if she gets the role of "Giselle"; Social-worker Julia always faints after hearing a certain word; and pot-smoking percussionist Elpidio was abandoned by his mother, coincidentally named Cuba, some time ago and has not yet gotten over the loss.
