Biography

Helen Carruthers (1892-1925) was an American actress. She signed a contract with Keystone Studios in 1913, starring alongside Charlie Chaplin and the Keystone Cops. In 1915, she moved with Chaplin to Essanay Studios. After a depressive episode, she left acting in 1915.

After a confrontation there, they both inadvertently leave with each other's coats. Later, their wives independently discover what appears to be incriminating evidence of extramarital affairs from the pockets of the swapped garments. It all comes to a head when all four of them find themselves at the "trysting place" in the park.
