On 5 June four hijackers, three men and a woman, hijack an Iranian passenger aircraft. Their commander is a person named Fariborz Atabaki [Nasser Aghayi]. Two of the passengers, one of whom later turns out to be an officer, disarm the hijackers; to the astonishment of the passengers they guide the aircraft to the same European destination the hijackers had intended. The original planners of the hijack hold a press conference at the destination. They say all the passengers are seeking asylum and ask the officer to tell the journalists his views. He says his reason for bringing the aircraft here is to show the world the passengers have no interest in political or social asylum; they all want to return to Iran.

In the village where Samad lives, the "Fighting Illiteracy" organization organizes a literacy class for the elderly to teach them literacy skills. In order to trap a group of smugglers, the head of the police force arranges a "politics" and sends one of the smugglers he has arrested to the class. The smuggler's friends, who have learned of the presence of their accomplice in the class, try to escape him, unaware of the trap that has been set for them. At the moment when the smugglers want to free their friend and the police station officers are unaware, Samad, who is one of the students in the class, enters the fray and traps the fugitive and the group of smugglers, and delivers them to the police station.

A man named Shoja (Mansour Matin) and a driver named Ismail (Mohammad Eskandari) insult Fitne and her friend Mojgan (Marguerite). Fitne keeps the matter a secret from Nader. Fearing disgrace, she marries a young man named Ali (Manouchehr Valizadeh) at Mojgan's suggestion. Parvaneh (Jaleh) decides to kill Fitne; but Ismail prevents her. Ali divorces her to save Fitne's life. When Fitneh decides to start a new life with Nader, Shoja, who has no children, tries to take over Fitneh's son. Shoja and several others go to Nader's house and after a struggle, they kidnap the child. While fleeing, Shoja crashes into a car and dies.
