Jedermann (2013)

Since 1920, "Jedermann," "The Play of the Rich Man's Death" by Hugo von Hofmannsthal, has been performed at the Salzburg Festival in front of the mighty Salzburg Cathedral. In 2013, Julian Crouch and Brian Mertes, as the directing team, took on the challenge of staging a new production. "We will begin ceremoniously with a procession from the Festspielhaus to the Cathedral Square, working with nature, the elements, the city, each other – but above all with the audience – to tell the story of 'Everyman,' his life's journey and transformation. His life must be rich, joyful, and overflowing – also for the audience. On the path to his conversion, he encounters a number of very powerful theatrical characters. We want – like a medieval theater troupe – to captivate our audience with spectacle and humor, to sweep them away, and invite them to follow Everyman's path and to understand it as their own – at least for the two-hour performance."

A new currency that expires in a few weeks and therefore stimulates spending. Unemployed people who, as "loan siblings", are given a new job and a good life. The traffic therapy group that wants to make you understand the snake as a "unitary organism". A therapy office in the fresh air, which finally gives musty psychotherapy a healthy freedom. Color the world back into balance, at least in the parking lot. Or use humans as a self-sufficient source of energy. Or a tangibly equal democracy: All people attain the same eye level, an optimal 1.9m [via platform shoes].

Guten Morgen, Herr Grothe (2007)

37-year-old Michael Grothe is a German teacher at a secondary school in Berlin. Not an easy job. But Grothe loves his job, he is a committed teacher - too committed, because his private life is suffering as a result. His marriage has broken down, and his budding relationship with his colleague Lisa Kranz hardly stands a chance against the passion with which Grothe is a teacher. His class is the most important thing to him. The difficult Nico is particularly close to Grothe's heart. He doesn't want to give up on him and tries to encourage him. In doing so, he gets too involved with him and oversteps both Nico's and his own boundaries. He not only loses contact with the other pupils in his class, but also with his own life.

Widow Clara and widower Ulf have an unusual commonality: Both mourn the loss of their spouses, but they cannot have them declared dead. Although there are no official doubts about the alleged suicide of Ulf's wife Anke or about the fatal glacier crash of Clara's husband Enno, the officer who complies with the paragraph insists on a corpse for the notarization - and that does not exist in either case. In order to at least support each other in letting go emotionally, Clara and Ulf set up an informal two-person self-help group after meeting them by chance. The self-confident perfumer and successful novelist soon awaken surprising feelings that go far beyond the usual grief work. However, the two are even more astonished to discover that their spouses seem to have certain similarities. A treacherous photo of Anke with Enno, her disappearance almost at the same time and the complicity in a fraud worth millions raise the suspicion that the departed have made off together.

But he does not care and there he meets Solvejg, whom he likes very much, but she initially turns away from him. So he kidnaps the bride Ingrid, incurring the wrath of the groom and the rest of the village youth.
