One day, however, Lyonya catches his girlfriend with another man. Disillusioned, he firmly decides never again to get involved with younger women. Instead, he chooses something unexpected: he proposes to Nadya. Nadya is bewildered. She knows Lyonya does not truly love her, and his children oppose the marriage. Yet for her, this might be the last chance at personal happiness — and she decides to take it.
