What started out as a question mark became one of the greatest slab duels ever held, complete with heat-ending injuries and the spectacle of the world's best dry-docked on the shallow Chilean reef, leaving some holding their bandaged heads and others simply shaking theirs at a wave compared to both Pipeline and Teahupo'o for it's ferocity.

Chasing Dora is the story of three California surfers who decided to bring to life an epic challenge thrown down by one of surfing's greatest stylists, the renowned maverick, Miki Dora, who died in 2002 at age 67. Dora was one of the sport's iconic figures. He railed against the commercialization of surfing, yet endorsed one of the best-selling surfboard models of the mid-'60s surf boom; he decried competitive surfing, yet still chose to enter some, and floated schemes to promote others; he shunned publicity, yet managed to use the surf media to create an almost mythic persona for himself. Chasing Dora takes on one of his radical ideas--that the ultimate test of a truly great surfer would be in a contest for the longest wave ridden, on a self-made wooden board, with no equipment or accessories that stemmed from the industrial age--no plastics, no neoprene suits, no surf leashes.

Taylor Knox puts on a display of raw power through his use of rail turns. Cory Lopez shines in the ease of backdooring the wave. Aqua Luna has an all-star cast of interviews that brings us the unique perspective of the surfers featured. Cory Lopez, Bobby Martinez and Pancho Sullivan explain the razor sharp reef and the history of surfing in Chile. Then the all-star crew heads to a wave know as The Fish Factory, where the wave doubles up and spits and is named for its distinct smell.

Tyler Smith catches a fish and releases it after getting it stoned. In addition, there are fun trips to Mexico and Hawaii. Pomer had just cemented a relationship with the legendary surfer Tom Curren and it shows in the 100% exclusive footage of Curren surfing at his own secret point break. Pomer captured the reclusive Curren in his element by riding bikes with him to this lost point and surfing with him before breaking out the camera. It offers a glimpse of Curren that can be found nowhere else: Curren surfing all by himself in his own nirvana. This is special footage of a time that is long gone. And dont forget about the Ratboy Shove-It. The first ever recorded.
