[HELIOS] After the 13th class entrance ceremony, the newly appointed rookie "Heroes," Junior and Faith, are assigned to the West Sector. However, the team they're assigned to is unusual, with only one mentor, as per the wishes of Mentor Leader Brad. Furthermore, Mentor Keith has no desire to teach, and leaves the two rookies to their own devices. Frustrated by the lackluster team atmosphere, Junior asks to be transferred, while Faith remains apathetic. Far from improving teamwork, the rift only widens. Meanwhile, an incident caused by [Eclipse] sets the gears in motion that connect the past and the present. It all began four years ago, at [Lost Zero]. --The death of a certain "Hero."

After numerous tryouts (selection tests), rookie Gray finally becomes a "hero" as part of HELIOS' 13th generation. After being assigned to the East Sector, he spends his days receiving extremely strict instruction from his mentor, Asch. Despite encouragement from fellow rookie Billy and his mentor, Jay, Gray is beginning to lose confidence in himself as a "hero." Meanwhile, the chaos caused by Eclipse is becoming increasingly extreme. Furthermore, the increasing number of Zeros is putting HELIOS on high alert. Amidst all this, an incident occurs that pits them against Eclipse, and Gray, Asch, and the others are unable to work together as a team, forcing them into a difficult battle. But then, something strange happens to Gray, and he reveals a personality that is the complete opposite of his usual self...

In order to take revenge on the ferocious killer bear Aka-Kabuto for his family, Gin joins the army of Ohu who also chases Aka-Kabuto. Together, they embark on an adventure to look for new comrades and fight against the killer.

The distant future. Midorijima, an island in Japan's south west, is an island divided - home to both 'Platinum Jail', a luxurious members-only resort owned by one of Japan's leading conglomerates, Toue Concern, and to the 'Old Residential District', where the original reisdents of the island have been forcibly relocated by rapid and aggressive development. Within the 'Old Residenital District', two games in particular are popular. On one hand - 'Ribsteez', where teams are formed to fight over territory in hand-to-hand combat. And on the other - 'Rhyme', a vast virtual reality where 'Rhymers' battle and compete against one another in digital matches. Our protagonist Aoba doesn't really care for either of these. All he wants is to be able to live a relaxed and happy life in the 'Old Residential District' with his grandmother. However, something strange is beginning to happen - something that not only threatens Aoba's peaceful days, but all of Midorijima.
