The Howie Rubin Story (1990)
Character: Frankie
A light-hearted coming-of-age comedy set in 1950s New York. Follow Howie, a lovable nerd with big daydreams, as he navigates the ups and downs of teenage life and tries to win the girl of his dreams. Full of humor, heart, and classic 50's charm, this short film captures the trials, tribulations, and fantasies of growing up. This film won 26 awards internationally and nationally, winning more recognition than any other nontheatrical U.S. film in 1992.
Legends of Doo-Wop (1988)
Character: Young Rich
Presents a hilarious, imaginative mock-documentary about Wayne and Rich, who are two aging background vocalists who claim to have been behind some of the biggest rock-and-roll songs recorded in the 1950s and 60s. We see 'film clips' of them in youthful action and also 'stills of the era'. The flashback performances are all in perfect synchronisation and it is extremely inventive - and it's fun!
