Frieder Schulz has turned from a laid-back type into a provincial in three years, taking care of his cottage, garage and career. As he prepares a wedding with his fiancée Gosia, his buddies from the good old days, strewn with music and artistic frenzy, unexpectedly show up. The old buddies, Jonas, Paul, Knack, Manni, definitely don't fit into the new quiet lifestyle in the Polish countryside and are hoping for a party at least like they used to have. Their visit causes a series of misunderstandings, woven from stereotypes and prejudices.

The experimental film project 'Jonas' is mix of fiction and documentary. It was shot during actual lessons at a comprehensive school in Brandenburg. It uses the teachers and pupils of the school, and stars Christian Ulmen as Jonas. The aim of the project was to capture the influence of an artificial figure in a real space. Made with a subtly wry smile, this is a fascinating study of the school system, puberty, love and music.

When Ida discovers she's pregnant with Otto's child, the two marry, and upon their return to Germany, Ida attempts to join in the business by creating a line of scarves decorated with koi patterns. However, the honeymoon proves short-lived, and Ida's presence creates a rift between Otto and Leo, as the latter sets up his own concern, raising koi with his new bride, Yoko.

Robert's reaction seems a little strange, but no one can yet suspect that he has just fallen head over heels in love with the attractive woman in her mid-forties.

Meanwhile, political turmoil mounts on the other side of the Wall.
